How Air Source Works
In the same way that a fridge extracts warm air from inside to stay cold, air sourced heat pumps extract warm air from outside.
This heat is absorbed into a fluid which is passed through a compressor, further increasing it’s temperature before it is transferred to the heating system.
Using one unit of electricity, your heat pump will output 3-4 units of heat (around 300% efficient), whereas most other forms of heating have less than 100% fuel efficiency. Air source heat pumps offer significant savings for all properties off the gas grid, especially when replacing an LPG, or oil heating system.
